The Best Bars for Day Drinking in Philadelphia This Spring

Ditch the heavy coats, grab your sunglasses, and start sipping in the sunshine. Maybe it’s the vitamin D, maybe it’s the socially acceptable excuse to start happy hour at noon – but there’s just something about a daytime drink that rocks our world. Either way, we’ve rounded up the best bars in the city for a solid day drinking session.

Where to Go Day Drinking in Philadelphia

For a day drinking experience that feels a little more elevated, give Harper’s Garden a whirl. Just off Rittenhouse Square, this spot serves up breezy, botanical vibes with an open-air patio, hanging greenery, and handcrafted cocktails. Here, you could easily accidentally spend five hours drinking rosé before realizing you never ate lunch (not recommended).

Bok Bar

If you love a good rooftop moment, then Bok Bar is a must once it reopens for the season on April 10th. Sitting on top of a repurposed school building in South Philly, this seasonal open air bar has unreal skyline views and a drink menu that keeps things light and fun.

Irwin’s

Another hidden rooftop treasure, Irwin’s at the Bok Building is all about Sicilian-inspired cocktails, natural wine, and stunning city views. It’s a little classy, a little casual, and 100% perfect for golden hour.

 Triangle Tavern

South Philly’s Triangle Tavern is an underrated day drinking location. With a huge outdoor patio, great beer list, and some of the best vegan wings (and non-vegan fare!) in the city, it’s a great spot to kick back with a cold drink, soak up the South Philly charm, and chow down on some seriously delicious Italian comfort food.

Johnny Brenda’s

One of Philadelphia’s best-known indie music venues, but Johnny Brenda’s is also a solid place for a casual daytime beer out on there extensive outdoor section before the night crowd rolls in.
