Philadelphia's Spring FESTIVALS: From Maifest to Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival

From lively beer gatherings like the 11th Annual Maifest on South Street, live performances at the Sing Us Home Festival, unique art offerings at the Kensington Derby and Arts Festival, delicious bites at East Passyunk's Flavors on the Avenue and the Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival, all the way down to the family-friendly activities at Roxborough Spring Fest, you're sure to find something to get you in the springtime spirit.

To tantalize your tastebuds, you wouldn’t want to pass up the opportunity to sample the delicious eats of the Manayunk StrEAT Food Festival on April 21st and East Passyunk's Flavors on the Avenue on April 28th. Both days’ agendas are brimming from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with local food, craft beer, cocktails, live music, as well as local vendors for shopping. Whether you're a die-hard foodie or simply enjoy a good snack and a bit of shopping, these events promise a Sunday afternoon well spent.

Sing Us Home Festival on May 3rd to May 5th. Positioned on the picturesque Venice Island in Manayunk, this festival delivers a thoughtfully curated combo of local food trucks, beer and cocktail vendors. It also provides exposure for local artists and musicians, making it a community-driven festival that is indeed a sight to behold—not to mention, it's also delightfully Instagrammable!

Next up, we take a detour to the vibrant 11th Annual Maifest on South Street, happening on May 4th, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. This spring extravaganza, brought to you by local South Street German institution, Brauhaus Schmitz, embodies the spirit of unity and celebration, inviting locals and tourists alike to bask in the emergence of Philadelphia’s sunnier days. Set within the bustling hub of South Street, the festival features German beer and food staples, maypole, and live music.

Still buzzing with festival excitement? Head on to Kensington Derby and Arts Festival that will run the following week on May 11th, starting at noon and wrapping up at 6 p.m. Expect a parade unlike any you’ve ever seen before featuring innovative human-powered sculptures and an artist's market where you get to meet the masterminds behind the art! If you're one to appreciate creativity and local talent, you're in for a treat. 

Finally, wrapping up our springtime journey is the Roxborough Spring Fest on May 18th.
